Our client based in Sidcup is seeking an experienced warehouse candidate to join their team on a permanent basis.
We are seeking a reliable good all-rounder to assist in a mixed role of Warehouse and forklift duties and also on occasion to cover for absence of any delivery driver.
The Purpose of your Position:
As Warehouse Operative, you will operate the forklift, moving packages and material around our facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. You will be responsible for driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities.
Observing the Health & Safety policy requirements at their premises at all times
Assisting the drivers when require to load and unload making sure that the vehicles are kept in a clean condition
Prepare parcels and pallets for delivery and safe transit
Reading and understanding the delivery notes, ensure that all the correct equipment is loaded on to the truck before leaving the warehouse
Maintain goods in records and verify goods received
Driving the forklift truck as required
Loading vehicles, ensuring that the load is safe and within the specification of the vehicle
Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
Noting of any damages or shortages and report to the Transport Manager
Unloading all vehicles at the factory on their return
Reporting all mechanical faults that the drivers report to the Transport Manager
Ensuring that all products are stored correctly and secured
Ensuring all the warehouse areas are kept clean and safe, organised and well ordered
Carrying out other duties as instructed but the Transport Manager as required
Liaising with the production office
Assisting in planning routes and organising the loading of vehicles
Ensuring that all accidents are reported as soon as possible
Completing any accident claims forms
Report any accidents to your Line Manager
Demonstrates flexibility when asked to work additional hours
Demonstrates reliability and punctuality
Understanding of production procedures
Proven experience as forklift operator
Ability to communicate with others and work well in a team
Demonstrates commitment and accountability to the role

Ability to think logically
Valid certification to operate forklifts
Demonstrates the willingness to be flexible when asked to work additional hours
From time to time you may be required to carry out reasonable and relevant tasks that fall outside of your positions remit. This will include driving company van to cover absence of any delivery driver so you should hold a full clean UK driving licence and be over age 25 for insurance purposes.
Within reason, you may be required to work outside of your standard contracted hours to meet the needs of the business.
As part of your ongoing development, you may be required to undertake training in order to meet the requirements of your role.
Shifts are Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm
Salary; Hourly pay rate £9.50, 28 days annual leave and pension.
